Can the Nokia E-50 phone be used on a Telecom plan? (New Zealand)?

I live in New Zealand and recently bought a Nokia E-50 phone (the one with the camera). It's normally used for Vodafone, and all the instructions tell me to install a SIM card, but my friend said that most Nokias can be used as telecoms as well as vodafones. Is there a way I can connect it to Telecom, or will it only work for Vodafone?

Hi no you can't use Nokia e50 mobile telcom sim until you unlock it from vodafone network lock ...You can easily unlock your phone using sites like TheUnlockArena.com they are rendering unlock code for all mobile models at reliable cost .After unlocking it you can freely use it with any GSM sim ..
