Batteries are somewhat universal-somewhat. They rate them by Cold Cranking Amps. Different sized cars need a higher CCA battery. One for your car could very well be the same battery that actually goes in a Ford or Toyota. Just go to a auto parts store-even Wal Mart sells car batteries. But just go to like a Auto Zone or whatever auto parts store is close to you. They will be able to look it up to see what kind of battery is best for your car.
Really though-going to the dealership you will end up paying probably some unreal price-probably like $200 for a $60 battery.

My battery died a couple of weeks ago, and even though I jump started it 2 or 3 times and drive it for a while, it still dies after a little bit.
Can I use a non BMW battery to replace the old one? or do I need to get it from the BMW dealership?
Thank you,
Javier

Most batteries have a 4 or 5 year life. You can go to any car parts store and get a battery for your BMW. Any good battery will be between 60 and 80 bucks. The DieHard from Sears is a nice one that Sears will replace if something goes wrong with it.

Batteries Are Batteries..........pay For A Good Battery Or Pay For The Name And Pay More.......get One With High Cold Cranking Amps If You Live Up North.....diehard

iF YOU GO TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BUY A BATTERY YOU WILL SPEND ALOT OF MONEY FOR WHAT YOU COULD SPENT A LITTLE GO TO AUTO STORE AND BUY A GOOD BATTERY BE DONE WITH YOUR PROBLEM
