Is Internet Explorer free to use?

I am on AOL Broadband and that is the browser that i normally use. However some webpages do not work properly in the AOL browser but they do work in internet explorer. So do i have to use the AOL one all the time or is internet explorer free for me to use?

also firefox 3 and google chrome are free, many feel they are better.
