If huge tax short fall, will congress levy various sales taxes on gas, tire and beer?

I predict huge tax revenue shortfalls at every level of government in coming months, so should every expect extreme measures to raise revenues and elimination of services? How will they justify such harsh measures?

Will Dems and Repugs just point finger at each other. Will Obama blame Bush? Where does that leave you?

    They will try.

But there will be massive tax revolts. It happened during the great depression, and it will happen again now. We need to FORCE government to downsize.

Yes, they will inflate and create debt to fund themselves like they have been for years, but when the employees of government will not take IOU's, then they are forced to downsize.

Citizens already pay for 10,000 programs they do not benefit from, or even know of, and it is a tragedy. It makes those who think we have free markets, doubt true free markets where individuals pay for specific services and goods they need.

Yes, both parties will finger each other, but this is normal. They do so while handing each other blank checks behind their backs.
