Start with ghost shrimp. They are small, pretty and are very interesting to watch. You can put 15 ghost shrimp.

Try 1 male guppy and a female guppy soon you will get little baby guppies. Also neon tetras are nice to have and they will live well with guppies.

Rasboras. I think Harlequins rasboras look cool
Betta fish can be with some tropical fish, but not guppies
Mollies can get nippy. I would not get them.
    Barbs can get nippy too
danios are cool, but can get nippy to long finned fish. Mine are fine with a male betta, but practically killed a guppy

    platies are cool
    corys. AWESOME! Hope I helped!

Barbs are not a particularly good community fish, black widow tetra, neon's, coryadora for the bottom a good algae eater butterfly plec (hill stream loach) but do not get 1 of these if getting dwarf gourami, as anything that is slow moving will get sucked on not good for the scales.Another good fish in a shoal minnows, they are so fast in the tank and you can get them tropical also. Hope this helps a bit, good luck
