Hi, I have a pretty old road bike, and it uses 27 x 1 1/4 size wheels, which are pretty old and I basically can't get any tires for locally. The question I have is, is it pretty easy to change the wheel size on the bike completely? This is because I'm looking to get into road cycling a bit more, and the frame, brakes, gears etc on this bike are fine, it's just I'm a bit worried that, if one of my tires are damaged beyond repair, the bike is rendered useless.
So, is it easy to go for a more common size wheel without many problems? Thanks
