My Internet connection keeps dropping............?

Every now and then my connection keeps dropping. Like when i use Skype, and I'm online and someone else is online. I try to connect, it rings and then it says connection dropped. Or when I'm in a chat room with friends, and at the same time open the internet to browse. My connection always drops, and then like 3 seconds later it goes back up and I'm online talking to my friends again. It hasn't done this before, but just started recently. I can also sometimes see that all the lights go out on my At&t internet box when my connection drops. Does anyone know the problem. I have At&t DSL. Any help would be appreciated.

You should contact Att Isp tech support at 1-877-213-1053 and talk to the geeks about your problem. best wishes.

You have some device connected to your phone line that's not properly filtered to work with DSL. This could be a new phone, answering machine, FAX machine, alarm system, or the like.

Unless you use a splitter, every single device that connects to your phone system, except your DSL modem itself, must have an appropriate filter.
