...polling an IMAP mail account? I've configured Outlook in both XP and Vista to access an IMAP account I have (with American service providers, Brinkster) and they work well enough. For some reason though, in both cases, the native mail app to the OS is MILES faster at polling for mail. Does anyone have any answer as to why this is other than, "Outlook Express and Windows Mail are more streamlined clients and may therefore run quicker in general"?

Thanks in advance for any answers.
