Why spread rumors??!?

I'm 21..i left school at 16 i've not bothered with ANYONE from school since i left , i even moved to leicestershire ..but had to move back to wales again. Anyway.. someone has started a rumor that I'm Bi or Lez? what the hell.. i'm trying to put it down to being childish.. but what?! (No i'm not but its making me think.. how idiotic is this ..) at 21.. and still spreading childish rumors around?? i dont even know the people that well! just by name! is this wrong of me to think of them as childish and pathetic??

it happened today actually i got told by someone else that someone else etc etc etc lalalalalala had started such n such ..and well ba! ill just take the advice of ignoring it

People spread rumours because they'd rather talk about someone else than themselves.

In high school a friend and I started a rumour about ourselves just to see who fast it would spread. By the end of the day, I had people coming up to me that I didn't know asking me if it was true.

No its not wrong of you but why even think it if it happened years ago....in high school ive heard so many rumors and still out of high school i still hear them but only from the people that haven't matured and figured out what they are gonna do in life.They just don't have no life so they have to be in other peoples life so that they feel they still exists.
