How would a Quad core Processor compare to the Cell processor found in the PS3?

For those who want to give extreme in depth in this question i will understand because I am very into computers and complicated things. There is nothing i don't understand. Get Technical. 10 points for best answer. Here is the Wikipedia link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cell_Broadband_Engine) and for the Quad core (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core_2_Quad)

I would think the Quad Core processor is much faster than the cell processor. From what I have read the cell processor really is not all that fast as it claims to be, also I do not think they even make the cell processor for computers, only for the ps3. I think they made some kind of deal or something. But then again I could be wrong.

Hope I helped you resolve this issue!!

No even close. The world fastest computer right now is at IBM, they built it out of allot of Cell processors.
