My older female cat has started the habit of screaming under my door at

all hours of the night, what is wrong? My 12 year old kitty just started to come to my room in the middle of the night and meow at the top of her lungs-it sounds like she is getting killed.
I just watched her eat, use the litter box and then ran down the hall to meow outside my door-getting louder and louder.

I cannot let her in my room (I have horrible allergies)

She checks out fine with the vet. When I am home, I spend the whole day with her and her brother.

She checked out fine with the Vet. This behavior just started.
I leave the radio and light on.

What can be wrong with her? She completely freaks me out when she meows sooo loudly.

    Any suggestion?

She may be deaf. Deaf cats can't hear themselves so they raise their voices, just like we do. It's odd that it started suddenly so a visit to the vet is in order to check her out. There may be something a vet can do to help - it could be an ear infection or similar.

Kudos for you for looking after and playing with her when you have allergies.

you have allergies...but you can play with her? You mean, if you get the cat hairs on your pillow, you sneeze?
