My PS2 is making a clicking noise...?

My PS2 reads the games, allows me to play them, but at certain times, it starts making a clicking noise.I am currently playing Tales of the Abyss on my PS2, and after a fight with a monster, the screen turns black and the ticking starts.I think that this might be because it is reading and loading, but I'm not sure.

My PS2 is the slim model.
