What solution sis best to clean chrome rims?

I just bought a car with chrome rims that are dirty (haven't been cleaned in ages) and I wanted to make them nice and shiny again =) Is there any special solution I should be using that will work better than water and soap? Lol. My mother keeps insisting on windex but she knows nothing about rims so I doubt that would work but who knows. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks =)

Get some crome polish and some elbow grease, what kind of car is it anyways, im just interested in that kind of stuff.
