Hooking up surround sound/dvd to blu ray?

I have a surround sound that came with a dvd player and i need to connect these to my blu ray. HOW??

I tried hooking up the red and white cables to the dvd and blu ray, still doesnt work.

any other suggestions?

check to see if there is a 'AV in' (red/white) on the back of the dvd surround.
if there is, u plug in the red and white chords from ur blue ray into the dvd...leave the yellow (video) connected to the tv...u might have to change the function on the surround to access the blue ray.
