any tips on writing songs??? i have nothing to write about!?

my guitar teacher always says first make the melody and find out what silibols fit where. you know the song yesterday was origionally scrambled eggs? he couldnt think of words! just think of a story you have heard, have gone through anything. if its a sad thing you can think about natural disasters. Happy, think of something maybe even philisofical or somewhat funny. Think of something you love...broadway....party...something. just think of the melody and im sure something will eventually come to mind. if you cant think of good words, immediately put SOMETHING to it so that you can remember it. and then think...hmm what rhymes with dog (if thats the word you thought of)...god....hog....log...just think like that. it always works.
