Do you agree religion doesn't teach you to deal with your problems?

I don't know if you would agree with this, but to me, Christianity sort of teaches the attitude: 'No matter what happens to you, no matter how bad things are, no matter how unlucky you are it's okay because when you die you go to heaven and hang out with Jesus and you don't have to care about anything'.

I suppose this provides comfort for people, but to me it isn't practical.

God's love doesn't start with our physical death. Please look at what He tells us in His letter to us which is found in His written Word the Bible.

You're right, it lacks practicality. I see christianity like alcoholism.

You use alcohol to drink your problems away but the problem doesn't subside. With christianity, everything bad that happens to you, you end up repressing and so you ignore the problem and end up thinking it's for the best since you're going to heaven.

Again, practicality being the key word.
