    That used to be my Nan's favourite part of Christmas...waiting to find out who had died, I can still see her in the Kitchen saying " Ooooh I wonder who will die this year..."

    Second only to this was reading the obituaries in the local paper.

    Yes Christmas was a special time for her :-)

    lots of people die at this time of year, not just famous people, something to do with the winter, darkness, and loss of light, and the cold, and its sad when anyone does. Eartha Kitt, and now Harold Pinter, sad but both were suffering from cancer.

    With Winter comes cold weather. Statistically more people die in Winter. Famous people are part of those statistics.

    I agree. This Christmas a legendary Jazz singer (and one of the original Catwomans in Batman), Nobel Laureate and a star from the Sopranos died. Its weird.

    James Brown, Dean Martin, Ceauescu, Hans Huber, Charlie Chaplin, W.C. Fields all died on Christmas

    Just one of those weird things
