My sister gave away my dog?

I recently had to leave my husband in a hurry about a month ago. My sister OFFERED to watch my Pomeranian for 6 months, until I got back on my feet. I couldn't keep her, but planned to get her back as soon as I had my own place. (My son and I are currently living with my parents. My dad is allergic to dogs, so bringing her was not an option)

My sister called tonight and told my dad to tell me that she gave my dog away. I am very hurt and angry. Through all of this, I took comfort in the fact that my dog was in a good home and I would get her back soon. I am heartbroken that she is now gone.

I also do not believe that my sister gave her to a good home. I believe she might have just given her to anyone who wanted her, or placed a "free to good home" ad on Craigslist. My dog had already been abandoned once. Also, when I talked to her last week, everything was fine with the dog, and she said nothing about needing to rehome her.

So, on Saturday, we are all getting together. I do not want to make the occasion miserable for everyone else by discussing it with her, but I also want to know who has my dog, so I can call and check on her, and I want to make sure my sister HAS that information. How do I do that without making things worse?

OMG if someone gave any of my dogs away without my permission I'll be BOILING!!! Right now, go CALL YOUR SISTER UP to find out who she gave the dog to! She refuses, then make her feel guilty until you get the info. I would feel guilty if I did something like that. Best of luck and hope your dog will be fine!

Your sister did not have the right to give your dog away..Just ask her who took your dog and where they live..You can go get your dog back because your sister did not have your permission to give her away.
You can get a police officer to go to their house to get your dog back.
That is what i would do and yes Dear you will get your pet back.It's to Damn bad when you can't even TRUST a family member to keep their word instant of going behind your back..Hang in there things will work out for you.If for some reason your sister won't give you their name and address I would report her to the police right away..It doesn't matter if she is your sister she did you WRONG My Friend..

I don't think you can.

Your sister knows what she did was worng and that it upsets you. she knows this.

So when you ask her these questions, she's going to get defensive immediatly.

I don't know how you can remain calm, if my siblings did that, I'd be at their house, abnging on the door looking for a fight lol My brothers know better than to cross me when it comes to animals though.

I'm sorry, I hope your dog went to a good home and I really hope your able to get on your feet soon.

Why don't you call or see her before the get together? Get it all resolved prior to the gathering. Even if you don't get it resolved via phone call or seeing her then at least you know where you stand once the gathering takes place. There would be no reason to bring it up because you already talked to her about it.
