i use allok video converter, it converts audio as well. gotta convert the videos to mp4

DVD Decrypter can rip the DVD ( found at www.mininova.org )
Nero or Roxio can convert to MPG for use on an iPod.
As far as your second question, what type of music are you converting? I assume you're converting to MP3 for you iPod, but what is the oringal file format? Be specific.
