Would you feel bad for someone that got no presents?

One of my mates got no presents at all yesterday and when I popped over this morning he looked really fed up, I said give me ten minutes and went out and bought him a little something and he was so grateful, how could his parents and family not even buy him anything? he speaks with them all and I think that's just so tight! I was over for 5 minutes yesterday and his mum had asked what his dad had bought her for Christmas and his dad replied "got you a nice dressing gown love" his mum then said "where is it james?" and he said "still on the shop shelf love, you'll have to go and get it, but it's the thought that counts eh?"
