i am 16 and have Becker muscular dystrophy. Is it a good idea to weight train to help keep as fit as possible. like bench presses, squats and military presses. and is it smart for me to take protein shakes. my mother has it but i don't want to end up like her. I'm not in a wheelchair or anything i just want to get stronger so i don't end up in a wheelchair. will running every morning help. i have left physical therapy in school because i got more of a workout in gym and they only let me lift 5 pounds when i could lift much more. like i can bench about 50 pounds.
