How to rip TV Series to an mp3 player?

How can I rip a TV series and split the individual episodes to a format that works on an mp3 player.

you'd have to have some kind of software that will rip videos, video editing software and windows XP comes preloaded with some to cut up the tv show then you would have to download some video conversion software to convert your video in to a friendly format for your mp3 player i have always used some free software called Badak to convert my videos and it usually does 3 different types of quality high medium low with low taking up less file space and high being the best video quality but you sacrifice more disk space
