    very slow utorrent/bittorrent/limewire speeds?

    Hi,
I have a 10 Mb internet speed and am using a belkin wireless network to connect to my mums router. Whenever I download torrents from Mininova with over 10,000 seeds I am still getting speeds of only 0.1-1.0 Kb/s? ( i am trying all 3 different torrent downloaders such as utorrent, bittorrent, limewire)
Why is this and how can i increase speeds?

    Thanks

You probably need to clear their network connection through the router and any firewall.

This guide will help with uTorrent and give you an idea what to do for the others

Steven, you are right, you should have speeds way over 1.0 kBs. In your other question you were told to forward your ports, did you do it?
    Read the guide here http://portforward.com/
Other than that it might be your firewall
Open uTorrent > click Options > Preferences > Connections. In this window put a mark in the checkbox for "Add Windows firewall exception"
Also, close all other bittorrent clients and just keep uTorrent open.

Most of the time slow computers is due to spyware, Malwarebytes is by far the best and easiest spyware cleaner out there. Check your hard drive space, if your computer is full of crap it will run sluggish. I only mention this because your a torrent user and probably have a crap load of stuff downloaded. Try to get rid of Programs, Games and or Movies you have that you rarely or never use. I don't think it's a virus because they usually render windows inoperable, but it doesn't hurt to run a scan. Make sure your only have one virus scanner installed on your computer. If you have more than one they will fight for superiority, which will slow your computer down or end up screwing it up "blue screens = BOSD". Your last step is to clean your windows registry, it probably needs cleaned up, download CCleaner for free or since you know how to use torrents get yourself a copy of AVG PC Tuneup.check all these and perform speed test here scanmyspeed.com it will sounds good..
