    Exercise Bike - Road Biking?

Does exercising on an indoor upright bike, at all help when you ride a regular bicycle on the road. I am going to start riding my bicycle to work in the spring, but I have not rode in a while, would using an upright exercise bike be good training for when I start riding to work in a few months. I know that an exercise bike is not the same as a road bike, but don't you use a lot of the same muscles.

It sounds like you know what you're talking about. Yes an upright exercycle will not be the same, but it will do and f it's all you have it will be far better than doing no cycling. Maybe you can rig it somehow to allow you to bend over the bars?
