Probably not because they would seem more legendary and mysterious if they did die at a young age.

No because usually the artist wasn't alive long enough to ruin their career or they would have sold out.

I think not. They still may have gone on to be really great in whatever they do but usually the reason they are "legendary" is because there dead. It's kind of a shame we don't appreciate things until they pass but its the easiest way to pay respects.
