What kind of cord do I use to connect the SPDIF output from my TV to my home stereo?

I just bought a new television for Christmas, and the only audio output is SPDIF, which I have no idea what is. My internet research has been fruitless. What kind of cord would I need to connect it between the SPDIF output on the television and my home stereo?

There are 2 standard connectors for SPDIF:

Is it a little square plug or square hole? You need a Toslink Optical cable.

Is it a RCA female jack? You need a video cable.

Both are available at Radio Shack or BestBuy.

BUT: You said "home stereo": If it really is only a 2 speaker stereo system these connections will NOT work. You need an AV Receiver that knows how to decode Dolby Digital and support 5 speakers and a dedicated subwoofer.

Count your speaker outputs on your 'stereo' before you try to hook things up.
