Best way to hook up home theater system?

Okay so I decided to go with the Pioneer HTP-2950DV 860W 5.1-Ch DVD Home Theater System.
It isn't HDMI, but spent much less than I wanted to and heard good things about this system. The speakers are much better than my current ones.

My question is...what is the best way to hook this up to get the best sound quality. I just purchased an optical cable from monoprice. What is the best what to hook this up to my television and 360?

The best way is connect optical cables from your devices to system.
