Is a Mazda Rx-8 a good car?

No not really. They are a labor of love. If you love the car you will put up with it's problems.

They are unreliable, they use ALOT of gas ( 18mpg on the highway!) and they have this peculiar issue where the engine can flood if you don't let it warm up, leaving the car essentially dead and needing to be serviced at the dealer.

That said, they are great to drive, have free revving engines, and excellent handling.
