There is pure white smoke coming out of the exhaust of my Kia Shuma?

I topped the engine oil this morning. Could this have something to do with it?
The smoke is really dense. Not the normal smoke you get when it's warming up on a cold day. It's a petrol car.

I did spill a bit of the oil, but I wiped it off.

White smoke is antifreeze/coolant burning in the cylinders where the headgasket is blown. It's best to have the cylinder head pressure tested for internal cracks and then resurfaced.
You will over heat the motor and as it gets worse you will have severe motor misfires.
Hope you have the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. Toe it to the dealer.

No oil smoke is blue. White smoke is ok for 10 - 15 minutes when the engine is warming up it is condensation, or you could have spilt little oil on the engine whilst topping it up, but that would smell. Don't worry just yet

this smoke is not the bad smoke that you should be worried about, on a petrol car you DONT want to see blue smoke coming out, and on a deisel car its BLACK smoke.

white smoke/steam points to head gasket, although i have known it to be brake fluid when the brake master cylinder has leaked fluid into the servo that is drawn into the engine by the vacuum, check your brake fluid level if this is ok it should eliminate it as the problem.

blue smoke points to burning oil.

black smoke points to fuel ratio to rich

Changin my answer it could be the fuel ratio!! maybe the carburettor is out of tune normal fuelcosistency is is 1.37 fuel to 14 air to much or too little fuel can cause the smoke. That could be one of the solutions. Carburrettor tuning is easy to do and you could earch your car online and be ale to fik it yourself. (it is very easy)

White-smoke is steam. Maybe you over-filled a little, but oil makes for a blue smoke. Maybe your head gsket is failling?

when you say topped do you mean you put oil until it couldn't take anymore? hopefully not. If you live where its cold it is perfectly normal hot air contacting cold air, or it could just be condensation built up in your exhaust which will happen from time to time and will stop after it burns off.
worst case scenario you blew a head gasket and there is coolant leaking into your combustion chamber which is bad.
white smoke is usually ok dark black or grey smoke is a very bad thing.
I wouldn't worry too much about it
