Vodafone with ATT SIM card?

So I am currently in Spain and i want to know if i can buy a phone from Vodafone (or whichever phone carrier from Spain) and use it with an ATT SIM card. would it require unlocking? would it even work?

Hai, If your phone is unlocked you can use any gsm network. If your phone is locked , does not work with other network. After unlocking only you can use ATT network. Here they will ask your mobile model and country, imei, and network after they will send the code with instructions to your mail shortly.
