Are bluetooth or USB headsets better to use for online video game play?

My friend that has one of each told me to get a USB headset because his bluetooth has a terrible lag and is hard to hear. I want a bluetooth headset so I don't have to worry about the cord (obviously). Can anyone give me some insight and maybe some recomendations on what to buy?

If you plan on getting a wireless headset, I'd go with Logitech. My friend got one of those, and he could still hear and talk when he was in the kitchen getting something to eat.
USB headsets are a bother, but you got a better chance of getting better signal. Though, my friends Bluetooth headset is perfectly clear (sorry, I don't know the model of it, all I can say is its from from Logitech.)
