Me and my best friend (A girl) ussualy hang out a ton at school. but now there is a rumor is going around that we are dating and now people keep coming up to me and calling me 'Wifey' and people keep asking her where her 'hubby' is. the rumor has spread throughout the school and now, her parents say that she has to keep away from me until the rumors die down! I need a way to stop the rumor so i can get my friend back! help! (by the way, i am in 8th grade)

Just let it go.as the first gal said.If you do try you will just keep it going.Just remember that there will be a new rumor sooner if you don't protest.
