Very simple take a razor blade and scratch off the residue from the windshield. Clean any residue off the bracket that the mirror hooks to.
The glue kit cost 3$ at any autoparts store. Most kits you just put the activator on the windshield ( simple ) then put a drop of glue on the bracket , put the bracket on the windshield. Wait 5 minutes then put the mirror on the bracket.

edit: Not enuff info? haha if you need a mirror also, yes they also sell them at any auto parts store but what other parts do you actually need to replace a mirror other than the glue pack or a mirror? not brilliant except a air freshener to hang from your new mirror

Not enuff info:
At auto zone they have the mirrors, the glue kits to repair and anything else you may need for this repair.

"BRILLIANT"!!!!

It broke and left the base where it hooks to and about 1 in. of the mirror still sticking to the base. How do I take this left over from the base? Is there a clip that need to be pushed? or it'll be better just to take the whole thing off?
