Pros and cons of Hollywood accounting?

Please comment on that. I know that it's very profitable for the actors and directors and whoever it is that isn't a "net profit participant", but it places writers at a disadvantage. Company tends to get sued a lot over this matter.

Anyone have more input to this question?
