Basically, I have a 5 year old QHXStandardbred.
He has flat front feet (he is sore on gravel), I work him mostly in the arena, and we are jumping about 2'3.
I talked to a farrier who looked at my horses feet and told me it wouldn't be a bad idea to have him shod in the front. He said my horse would be happier and more comfortable

What are the benefits of shoeing, and what are the negative effects? Will he come up lame if I decide to no longer shoe him later on??
