I found some really old rechargable batteries. Will they still work?

I remember using them at least ten years ago, and some of them look as though they might be from the late eighties. It's certainly been a long time since I saw Eveready rechargables. Do you think that they are still usable though? A few of them have leaked a little bit, but most of them are all right. Does the leaking make them unusable? What about the rest?
Oh, I forgot to mention. They are Nickle-Cadmium, which is the old type.
