2003 Honda Accord Coupe Trunk wont open?

My remote key stopped opening the trunk about 2 weeks ago, so I started using the manual lift next to the driver seat to open the trunk. Well today I opened my trunk and closed it and when I went to manual lift it again the lift is loose and the trunk wont open. My husband went in the back of the trunk and tried manually lifting from the inside and switching the switch but that didnt work either. Anyone have any other suggestions before I go to the dealer? Why isnt there a key hole to open the trunk on these flippin cars!! UGH

Look in beside the tail light. There should be a key hole there. Usually on the passengers side.

This happened to me last year. There's this metal hook thing and it go detached, which made it not work. I don't know how to fix it... I took it to the dealer, and it took less than 5 minutes. My sedan has a key hole in the taillight... are you sure you don't have one?
