So, i recently installed a Pioneer cd player/radio in my 1995 honda accord. It had worked perfectly for about 5 months, but seems to have encountered a problem. I started a long drive the other day and it was working fine, but after about 40 minutes the speakers started emitting a high pitched whiny frequency and the sound quality became terrible with lots of static-like sounds below the high pitched whine. Also the volume that the system can put out seems to be diminished by at least a half, because now i have to crank it all the way up to hear the distorted sound from the system at a normal listening volume. This was not just on the radio, but while playing a cd as well. It has stayed that way since, however sometimes when I turn on the car's lights it sounds normal for a second and then goes back to the messed up state. Any ideas?
