Can tmobile prepaid phones be used for regular plan? 10pts?

I was wondering if I could buy the Motorola Sidekick from the tmobil prepaid phone service and just not buy any minutes, and use my sim card.

I already have a phone, I just want to get a newer phone but keep my plan. Since tmobile is GSM i wanted to know if i could pop my sim card in there and use it regularily.

yeah all u have to do is change the sim card that's what i usually do just to get a new phone instead of going through all the other hassle i usually upgrade every year or if threes a new phone i really like
