is the iphone 3G worth it?

i want one for christmas and i need to know if it is even worth me begging my parents for it.

Naw man, the iPhone is a cool phone, but in my experience (over a year, since it came out basically) this iPhone has been relatively buggy.
It's a nice texter, if you have small fingers (which i do)
and if you're busy a lot, or understand it, the features are really nice.

but overall, it's not worth the monthly plan. If a cheaper, just as nice phone came out, I might drop it.

Only reason I wouldn't is because I use iTunes religiously now.
