I had a 1968 400 cu. in. pontiac engine that did this, the oil pump intake screen was plugged up with plastic that came off the timing chain. Had to replace the timing chain, take off the oil pan and unplug the screen and clean out the oil pan.

Sounds like low oil pressure which could be caused by a defective oil pump.

It's loosing pressure at low rpms. you are either low on oil or you have a leak. Check around the filter since you just had a change.

You may need a new oil sending unit. Very common. Do not put this
repair off. Oil pressure is nothing to mess with. It's a cheap fix also!
