Error installing Robot Wars Extreme Destruction on Vista?

I have a computer with windows vista on it. When I try to install Robot Wars Extreme Destruction on it I get the following error:

direct x 8.1 object error
number - -9
description - unknown error
file - C:\Professional\Source\Objects\DirectX8.1\Object\Script Files\Setup.rul
line - 308
script error - -9

If anyone knows how to fix this so that the game will install, please let me know.

How to install Robot Wars Extreme Destruction on Vista and Win7

All you do is start Task Manager when you see the error, then end the task for the setup! It should be installed! (Though the game may freeze and stop at ay time)

hey try right click the setup ( install shield) use compatibility mode set to windows XP-SP3
