"Hunting dog'.......what breeds/groups are considered "hunting" dogs? ?

Can you divide them into "types" of hunting?
    How do they "hunt"?
    What do they "hunt"?
    HOW?
Do you consider the retrievers as "hunting" dogs? Why or why not?

    Which Hounds are "hunting" dogs?
How do they "hunt" & what?

    Which Terriers "hunt"?
    Which "work"?
    What's the difference?
    What quarry?

    Why so many questions? XD
    Types of hunting? Not sure
How they hunt: run, catch, kill
Hunting dogs hunt mostly small animals.
    You already asked how.
    Retrievers retrieve the dead hunt.

    No idea.
    Still, no idea

and for the last, I really don't know.

Wolves hunt as a pack. If a dog is the be left alone with no food, they may go back to thier primal state and hunt for food.

    Groups:
Sporting and Hounds are the hunting groups. Terriers are used to catch vermin, like cats. Well...I guess you could think of cats as hunters, couldnt you?

Sporting Groups point to, flush, and/or retrieve large birds such as Geese, Ducks, Pheasents, and Grouse.

Hounds hunt a variety of things depending on the breed. For example: Coonhounds are used to tree Racoon, Afghans are/were used for chasing large game such as deer and leopard, Beagles and Bassets were/are used for hunting hares, Irish Wolfhounds were/are used for trailing wolves, and some like the Rodesian Ridgeback even hunted lions.

Yes, Retrievers are hunting dogs. I have a Labrador Retriever we take hunting and without her it would be much harder. I guess you could just think of them a "helping hand to hunters" and not hunters themselves, but, they were bred to work alongside hunters. So...I do consider them hunters.
