Just take the jacket to your local seamstress and have her replace it. It'll set you back only about $5. It's a pain to do it yourself if you don't know how and don't have a sewing machine. (She'll most likely have to replace the whole zipper though)

broke. can a new one be put on.? I am looking to replace only the slider as the zipper itself is good. Where do u buy a slider and how do you replace one

Yes take it to a dry cleaning shop or call them on the phone, if they don't do repairs, they probably know someone who does.*.. You could look in the yellow pages of your phone book also for a repair service.*

In most towns there is a person who will do that kind of repairs for you. If you don't know who to take it to, just take it to your cleaners and ask them to have it repaired.
