WWI- why was it NOT a good reason for us to enter into war?

Well, after reading the telegram and talking to mexico, it was clear that nothing would come to be. There was no way Mexico was stupid enough to pit its self against the United States. So from that angle, that was no a good nor legitimate reason the enter the war. Other than that, I can list multitudes of reasons why it was a good motivation to go into the war.
