Is it possible to overload the gps system?

The GPS system is an array of satellites that broadcast signals. There's nothing to get overloaded except your individual GPS device. If your device fails, it will have no impact on GPS for anybody else.

GPS relies on an array of satellites, so if a satellite fails, there are many more to lock into to triangulate a signal. There would have to be a catastrophic failure of multiple satellites to affect GPS.
