    Was Abraham Lincoln for or against slavery?

    Why are you calling me stupid. FYI.... I know whether he was for or against it. He didn't care either way. But he did believe that it would eventually die out over time. He did get rid of slavery, but only because the blacks fought for him in the civil war. However, before the civil way he was fine with letting southern states keep their slaves.

    Man he was against it that is why the civil war started because the confederate states because separate and Lincoln didn't want slaves so they went to war and eventually the confederates states general surrendered and then Lincoln signed a treaty.
