Do you know about front ends on ford trucks?

My husbands front end went out on his truck its an 2000 F350 1 ton dually. The gears are 373 we have a front end off another one of our trucks but the gears are 4 10.5, we have been told that we can put it on ours but not be able to use the 4 wheel drive until we replace the rear end. I would like to know what you know about this. Thanks!

what im needing to know is it still okay to do this if we dont use the 4 wheel drive, at least just until we can replace the rear end? thank you sooo much!

You can't have 2 different gear ratios. If you were to do this and use the 4WD you'd wreck the front end or rear end, possibly both.
