Isolation
The emptiness is trying to consume me once more.
All of my self-esteem…gone.
Vanished into the night
To leave me bewildered and insecure.
Not understanding the why,
And barely the how of what I feel.
The self-imposed isolation that keeps me,
Me.
I don’t like it,
But, I don’t know how not to be this way.
I try not to be too awkward when I’m out,
But when it comes down to it,
I’d rather be alone.
No,
That’s not right…
I’d rather be with my love.
But he is the flame everyone is drawn to.
Oh, what did I do?
But, what everyone doesn’t know is
That if it weren’t for me
That flame wouldn’t burn at all.
So is the isolation worth it?
