bmw audi merc saab car repair costs?

Is there a big difference in repair costs of Saab, Lexus, Merc, BMW, Audi? I was recently looking at 2006 Merc c180k sports edition but after having google round on repair costs (I did find something about somebodys 2005 merc costs nearly 3k just on services over 3 visits) Do you just get ripped off at the garages because of the badge? I will be buying a new family car over the next 3-6 months but may just pick up a mondeo if the repair costs are silly. I'd of thought Lexus and Saab would of been the cheapest to run and Merc being the rip off badge?
